"Lasting Partnerships" The company prides itself on its client base, it has strived to win prestigious contracts with blue chip customers. Once won we ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained. We have always been proactive when working with main contractors, and the company all ways looking at ways to help the project to be more cost effective.
We hold a very effective drawing office, and we work closely with project architects and engineers, minimising drawing time as at the early stages of project development, communication is key.
Example of projects. The first project for Bovis Lend Lease was a development at Mincing Lane London called Plantation 2, the major part of the architectural package, was the installation of a Woven S/Steel Mesh Screen within the reception foyer. This was a very demanding feat, but the results were outstanding.
Another testing project was the cladding of a 24 storey concrete frame. This work was carried out on behalf of Laing O’Rourke at there Express Wharf development. The Architect wanted to give the concrete frame a Steel appearance, so we were sub-contracted to fabricate heavy duty cladding panels which stacked vertically, and wrapped around three sides of the building. All items were pre-finished prior to installation.
At Stanstead Airport Skanska built a Radisson Hotel adjacent to the main terminal and we were subcontracted to install the internal balustrade to all the access stairs, an external terrace and a covered walkway from the Hotel to the main terminal.
At Lombard road in Battersea we were subcontracted by Barretts West London, to install external polyester powder coated balcony, and terrace rails. This required the prefitting of a proprietary bracket that was bricked around prior to the installation of the rails. The setting out was to grid, which allowed all of the infill panels to be manufacture prior to installation.
More recently we have been involved with the fabrication of a modular housing design, this was fabricated in heavy duty RHS, that could be linked together via cast container corner blocks. The fabrication tolerances were within +- 2mm. The frames followed a very tight QA procedure.
Kimber Engineering produce a variety of Architectural and structural items, and as you can see from our portfolio the vast arrange of complex projects we undertake. Our main product is the installation of external Balconies, that form various shapes and sizes and of varying types of finish. We are presently undertaking the installation of 52 external balconies to a tower block in London. A bracket is cast in the structural concrete an intermediate stub is provided, that is built into a cladding panel provided by another sub-contractor. The intermediate stubs are the bolted back to the cast in bracket, leaving a finished face for us to bolt the external balcony into position. The logistical co-ordination of this process is very complex and requires a vast amount of interfacing between trades, and Kimber Engineering has been leading that process. The balconies fit to four sides of a tower block that rises 22 storeys.
Kimber Engineering once involved in a project, has the ability to drive its section, we pride ourselves in having the ability to stay ahead of programme. We like to prefabricated as much as possible off site, by having the ability to drive the design process this way. It enables fast, economic production and easy, safe installation. We can drive contract values up to 1 million pounds, by ensuring the design element is driven in co-ordination with the Architect, Engineer and other trades, to a degree which improves cost and maintains programme.
We form a good working relationship with main contractors, which in turn have allowed us to become involved, at tender stage for the main contractor. This relationship can only be built on trust performance and competitive market prices
